Primer Fall 2008 Edition

Sent to: Admin and MDC Contacts
Date: Oct 1, 2008

To be updated on important training sessions and to also learn more about how to properly use certain forms and get some great ideas on how to educate employees about HOOPP, you need to read the current issue of Primer.

In this issue:

  • Find out about how Nancy Brunner at Trillium Health Centre kicked-off a successful campaign to educate part-timers about HOOPP.
  • Learn about how you can waive or partially waive requirements to allow part-time employees to join HOOPP.
  • A reminder of the upcoming training sessions for the new HOOPP transactional site that you must attend if you are responsible for completing HOOPP forms such as enrolment, termination, and retirement.
  • Read about how Nancy Gaumond at Montfort Hospital alerted all of the staff about the new Buyback Estimator – prompting some part-time employees to find out more about HOOPP and how they could join!
  • Our Disability Team answers questions from Betty Kenney at St. Joseph's Healthcare and Karin Dreany at North Bay General Hospital about why and how the Notice of Rehabilitation Program form is used by HOOPP.
  • Simple instructions have been provided to help you ensure that you receive important HOOPP e-mails – check them out to make sure that HOOPP is on your e-mail white list.
  • Find out more about how our call queues have become transaction-based with calls routed to the retirement, termination, death/disability, buyback/transfer and general teams.
  • And, finally, there's a reminder for you to come visit our booth at OHA Health Achieve 2008 at the Metro Convention Centre in November to get your first glimpse at new online services that we will be introducing with the launch of our self-serve websites.

Please remember to send us some feedback on how we can improve Primer by completing our survey so that we'll know what you want to learn more about in the next issue.
