Rates steady for next two years

A reminder -- HOOPP contribution rates will remain the same in 2007, and will remain the same in 2008, as approved at the latest meeting of HOOPP’s Board of Trustees.

Contribution rates are:

• 6.9 per cent of annualized earnings up to the year's maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE), which is $43,700 in 2007; and
• 9.2 per cent above the YMPE

Through early action when projections showed that an unfunded liability would emerge, and by taking a “hold the line” approach on contributions, HOOPP remains on track to eliminate our small funding shortfall.
