2007 YMPE is $43,700
The federal government has announced that it has set the year’s maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE) for 2007 at $43,700, an increase of $1,600. The YMPE for 2006 is $42,100.
The YMPE is updated annually by the federal government based on the average industrial wage in Canada, and is an element in HOOPP’s pension formula.
HOOPP is in the process of updating a number of items to reflect this change including:

- How Your HOOPP Contributions Are Calculated, a member information sheet designed to be given out to new members, and to any member who requests it
