2007 YMPE is $43,700

The federal government has announced that it has set the year’s maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE) for 2007 at $43,700, an increase of $1,600. The YMPE for 2006 is $42,100.

The YMPE is updated annually by the federal government based on the average industrial wage in Canada, and is an element in HOOPP’s pension formula.
