Plan Committee

The Plan Committee oversees the Plan's benefits design and its administration, as well as its funding.

This committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Board on matters, such as:

  • proposed changes to benefits
  • appointment and performance of the Board's external actuarial advisor
  • actuarial valuations
  • funding strategies
  • contribution rates

The Plan Committee also monitors compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, including the federal Income Tax Act and the provincial Pension Benefits Act, as well as the pension plan policies of HOOPP's Board of Trustees
