2008 YMPE is $44,900

The year's maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE) for 2008 are $44,900. The YMPE is set each year by the federal government and is a factor in calculating both your HOOPP contributions and pension. It reflects the average wage in Canada.

It is also used to set contributions for the Canada Pension Plan; in 2008 you will make CPP contributions on earnings up to $44,900.
