HOOPP’s Board of Trustees

Marcia Gillespie, Benefits Counsellor, Ontario Public Service Employees' Union (OPSEU), is the Chair for 2007. Appointed to the Board by OPSEU, Gillespie has served on the Board since 1996.

Kelly Butt, past chair, Lawson Health Research Institute, is Vice-Chair for 2007. Appointed to the Board by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA), Butt was the Chair in 2006.

HOOPP’s Board of Trustees is made up of 16 voting members. Eight trustees are appointed by the OHA and four unions each appoint two trustees. The unions are the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union (OPSEU), and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Pensioner observer

There can be two non-voting pensioner observers on the Board.  At present there is one pensioner observer on the Board, Joyce Bailey, former President of the Wellesley Hospital.
