Making Plan administration easier for our employers
Making Plan administration easier for our employers
Your opinion matters
In the spring, we held focus group sessions and made on-site visits with some employers. The feedback we received provided us with valuable insights. This helped us to prioritize changes that would simplify the day-to-day administration of the Plan.
Here are some of the improvements that are coming by the end of this year. These usability, process, and performance enhancements will have positive impacts for your employer administration teams.
What's on the horizon?
1. Member Data Collection (MDC) is an annual process to collect member information such as weeks, contributions, and pension adjustments. This information is used to produce annual statements. We are focused on creating an enhanced MDC experience that will:
- Save time by simplifying processes and reducing the number of steps needed to complete a transaction.
- Reduce review time by eliminating and enhancing certain verifications.
- Create a more intuitive experience with several usability improvements and new features.
2. Leaves of absence are reported when a member starts or ends a leave, including a health leave. Members may have the opportunity to make contributions while they’re on leave or purchase the service at a later date. This will increase their pension at retirement. In the case of health leaves, members may be eligible for disability benefits. The process of submitting leave information has been simplified to help save time when updating a member’s record.
3. Administrative notifications are emails sent by HOOPP to let employers know when to visit HOOPP Insight to action items that require attention. We’ve streamlined the process to replace all individual notifications and consolidate them into a single email. Think of it as your “weekly reminder.”
4. The Learning Centre located within HOOPP Insight provides employers with important resources and information. The Learning Centre has been redesigned making it more user friendly and easy to learn with additional how-to videos, calendar and registration for upcoming education sessions and webcasts.
We are committed to improving the employer experience and we are confident these changes will have a positive impact on how our employers administer the Plan. We wish to thank our employers for their valuable feedback and we look forward to our continued partnerships.
Preparing our employers
Employers have been informed about the enhancements that are coming through a series of live education sessions across the province throughout October and November. In addition, webcasts will be offered in December for employers that missed the live sessions or just want a refresher on upcoming changes.
