Watch for MDC Reporter Package in December 2007
Sent to: Member data contacts
Date: Nov. 7, 2007
This year’s MDC Reporter package, which provides HOOPP with the annual pension data for all the HOOPP members that you employ, is slated for distribution in early December.
MDC Reporter includes tools for the easy completion of the PA For Health Leaves Report as well as the RCA Contributions Report.
While both the MDC Report and the RCA Contributions Report are due by Jan. 31, 2008, the PA for Health Leaves Report needs to be completed by Jan. 11, 2008.
To help us send member annual statements directly to Plan members by mail, we will need you to provide us with mailing information by Feb. 7, 2008.
Please be advised that the 2006 Statement of Account Reconciliation has commenced and, as a result, we will not be accepting revised data for the 2006 MDC as of Nov. 9. The revised information can be reported on the 2007 MDC, instead.
Training sessions are being organized for the latter half of November and early December, and are designed to offer help in completing the reports or answering your questions.
Once the dates and locations are finalized for these sessions, we will alert you via Primer Alert and post them on the MDC Resource Centre pages, which will be available on hoopp.com as of December.
2008 YMPE is $44,900
The federal government has announced that it has set the year's maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE) for 2008 at $44,900, an increase of $1,200 over the 2007 YMPE of $43,700.
The YMPE is an element in HOOPP’s pension formula. It is updated annually by the federal government and based on the average industrial wage in Canada.
HOOPP is in the process of updating a number of web and print materials to reflect this change, including the online HOOPP Administration Manual.
