Help Using PDFs & Adobe Reader

HOOPP's forms are in Portable Document Format (PDF). Adobe Reader, formerly known as Acrobat Reader, is a free program used for PDFs.

PDFs should open automatically in your browser. If one does not open, you may need to download the current version of Adobe Reader.

The most up-to-date version of Reader is available from Adobe. Click on the button below to be directed to Adobe's website for download instructions.

HOOPP recommends the latest version for use with our fillable forms.

Is Adobe Reader a “safe” program?

Yes. Adobe Systems is a reputable software company that has been in business since 1982. Reader has been available in various versions since 1993.

Is it difficult to install Adobe Reader?

No. Adobe’s website provides simple installation instructions. Individuals in corporate environments may need permission from their technical support staff to load or upgrade Reader.

If HOOPP’s forms are working properly in an older version of Adobe Reader, should I upgrade anyway?

HOOPP recommends using the latest version of Reader, but it is not strictly necessary for most forms. In the future, HOOPP may introduce new form features that require the latest version of Reader.

How do I know which version I have?

When you open any PDF file with your browser, the version number should appear in the top right corner of your browser. You can also find the version number in Start > Programs menu of Windows-based PCs.
