Health and Disability Leaves

If you are unable to work, depending on the extent and expected duration of your disability, you may be eligible for one of these benefits:

• free accrual – contributory service for which you do not contribute; this allows you to continue to build a pension as if you were at work
• disability pension – an immediate lifetime pension, with no reductions for early retirement

To receive disability benefits from HOOPP you must first provide medical evidence showing that you are disabled as defined by HOOPP.
