Multiple Employers

HOOPP allows you to contribute to the Plan at more than one HOOPP employer. This allows you to build a bigger pension benefit each year by building more contributory service per year.

It’s important to let all your part-time employers know once you start making contributions at one HOOPP employer, so that you can contribute at all of them.

An important note – the most contributory service you can build in a year is 54 weeks. If you contribute beyond that level, the “excess” contributions are refunded to you. If you work full time at one HOOPP employer and part time at others, you can avoid having to wait for refunds each year by stopping contributions at your part-time employers.

If you participate in HOOPP at more than one employer, you cannot receive a HOOPP termination or retirement benefit until you have terminated or retired from all your HOOPP employers.
