You'll receive a new member booklet
When you enrol with HOOPP, you will be sent a copy of the booklet The Keys to Your Pension Plan. This information can also be found throughout this website and specifically in the Plan Details section.
Contributions begin
Contributions will be deducted directly from your pay.
In 2010, 2011 and 2012 as a member, you contribute:
- 6.9 per cent of your annualized earnings up to the year's maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE); and
- 9.2 per cent above the YMPE
Your employer calculates your contributions each pay period.
In 2010, 2011 and 2012 employers contribute 126 per cent of what members contribute - so for every dollar you contribute, your employer contributes $1.26.

If you have an e-mail address, you can sign up to receive the newsletter and other member news by e-mail.
Your annual statement
HOOPP mails each member a personal annual statement. Members can also choose to receive their statement electronically by selecting the secure mailbox option on HOOPP Connect.
Be sure to read your member annual statement package carefully. It's one of the most important things you'll ever get from us, besides your pension payment!
